Responsible for customer satisfaction, supervising and managing shift personnel and physical resources, assuring accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals, QC/PI activities, and exemplifying pharmaceutical care ideals. This role involves following attendance, dress, education, and safety policies, complying with regulatory agencies, directing staff, optimizing resources through formulary substitutions, participating in departmental and hospital activities, completing competency assessments for IV medications and sterile compounding, and exercising professional judgment in communicating with healthcare professionals to ensure safe medication use and minimize errors. The pharmacist will also identify and advise on drug-drug interactions, food-drug interactions, and potential adverse drug reactions, and provide clinical dosing/monitoring services for high-risk medications.
