About The Position

The Drug Information Pharmacist participates in all aspects of the clinical and operational support for the Regional Drug Information Centre. This includes responding to drug information inquiries, integration and coordination of specialized drug information resources, preparation of drug evaluations, preparation and maintenance of the Nova Scotia Health Formulary, IV manual, and other resources, support of clinical activities, and participation in quality improvement, research, and educational activities.

Requirements

Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
Eligible for the registration with the Nova Scotia Pharmacy Regulator (NSPR)
BLS (Basic Life Support) required
Knowledge of medication patient safety therapeutics required
Knowledge of medication patient principles and initiatives required
Strong teaching ability/experience required
Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature required
Proven effective oral and written communication skills required
Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and to work well under time pressures required
Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting preferred
Experience in evidence based clinical research an asset
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
