About The Position

The Clinical Outpatient/Ambulatory Pharmacist provides pharmacy support using evidence-based protocols and best practices to promote safety at the point of care. The pharmacist partners with multidisciplinary teams to achieve care outcomes, prioritizes wellness and patient perspectives, and contributes proactively to safety and quality. The role calls for proficiency in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment and includes precepting and mentoring people new to healthcare or UCHealth. The pharmacist ensures medications are prescribed, accurately dispensed, and administered according to best practices. They provide medication information and counseling to patients and caregivers, including guidance on use, dosage, potential side effects, and administration. They also stay current on formularies, drug therapies, treatment protocols, and emerging research, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal outcomes. This is an onsite PRN position at UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado, with a day and evening rotation. The schedule is 0.00 hours per pay period (two weeks).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
State licensure as a Pharmacist.
Any relevant life support certification as determined at the position level.

Responsibilities

Provide pharmacy support using evidence-based protocols and best practices to promote safety at the point of care.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to achieve care outcomes.
Prioritize wellness, patient perspectives, and evidence-based practice.
Precept and mentor people who are new to healthcare and/or UCHealth.
Contribute proactively to solutions that support safety and quality at the point of care.
Ensure medications are prescribed, accurately dispensed, and administered according to best practices.
Provide drug information and counsel patients and caregivers about medication use, dosage, potential side effects, and administration instructions.
Stay current with medication formularies, new drug therapies, treatment protocols, and emerging medical research through ongoing professional development and clinical education.
Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate collaborative care and optimal outcomes.
