About The Position

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited pharmacy school.
  • Two (2) years of relevant hospital pharmacist work experience. Human Resources (HR) may accept Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) residency completion in lieu of one (1) year of hospital pharmacist work experience.
  • Licensed [or eligible for licensure (i.e., meets all statutory requirements for Florida licensure application)] as a pharmacist per Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Sections 007 through 013.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications within six (6) months post-hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy services (including pharmacokinetic and therapeutic consultations) for the Emergency Center (EC) and associated areas (e.g., Pediatric (department 6050), Trauma Center (department 6234), and Urgent Care Center department 6236)).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.
  • Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
  • Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
  • Improves medication use safety in the EC.
  • Develops medication use management programs.
  • Supplies didactic and experiential clinical pharmacy training to Pharm.D. students and pharmacy residents.
  • Facilitates proper medication use information transfers for patients converted from the EC to the inpatient registry.
  • Participates in professional development and clinical staff competency.
  • Strives to reduce EC associated medication use costs.
  • Reviews medication orders prior to administering.
  • Performs other duties.
