About The Position

The Pharmacist Ambulatory Oncology is an exciting professional opportunity to be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer. This position is designed to focus on oral anticancer therapies, their toxicities, and management.

Requirements

Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington; If not currently licensed in Washington, must receive Washington State Pharmacist License within 90 days from date of employment
Two (2) years of experience as a pharmacist in an oncology setting required
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 Residency preferred
Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology preferred
BCOP (Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist) certification preferred

Responsibilities

Assess and review the selection of evidence-based and therapeutically appropriate anticancer therapies.
Review pathology reports, laboratory values, and concurrent medications for appropriateness and potential medication-related problems.
Assess, monitor, and manage anticancer therapy adverse reactions or toxicities.
Assess and monitor primary and secondary supportive care elements for inclusion in anticancer therapy protocols.
Serve as a subject matter expert for medication related questions as well as precept pharmacy and medical students or residents.
Provide patient and caregiver education on anticancer therapy, supportive care medications, symptom management, and adherence as well as safe medication handling, administration, and disposal.
Collaborate with clinic staff to connect patients with MultiCare Specialty Pharmacy resources.
