Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Other education required to obtain and/or maintain Pharmacy Technician licensure may be necessary.
- Current Pharmacy Technician license required prior to date of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior pharmacy technician or clerk experience, or pharmacy technician program current student or program graduate, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Pharmacy Technician Lead to support outpatient pharmacy operations.
- Receive prescription requests and accurately enter them into the computer database.
- Prepare medications for dispensing following pharmacy protocols.
- Assist customers and patients at the cash register, providing friendly and efficient service.
- Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing and coverage issues.
- Communicate with referring physicians’ offices to clarify prescription details or resolve questions.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage stock accordingly.
- Profile prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
