The AMS Pharmacy Technician supports the AMS pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patients enrolled in the Anticoagulation Management Services (AMS) program. Under direct supervision of the AMS pharmacist, the AMS technician performs non-clinical and administrative functions essential to program operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering incoming phone calls and routing or escalating concerns to the pharmacist appropriately, entering prescription refill requests, scheduling INR appointments and completing INR reminder calls, entering external INR lab results, maintaining and entering patient data on new and existing patients, AMS enrollment and renewal orders, provider changes, contacting outside facilities to obtain INR results or medication information, calling patients with normal INR results and gathering general, non-clinical patient information. AMS technician will promptly alert AMS pharmacist when patient responses or information require clinical triage or pharmacist intervention. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
