Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.)
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 1 (RCP120) or equivalent position.
  • Note: Any agency-specified certification/training that may be experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Georgia DPH FS, TA, SP, BA training curriculum and the ability to perform independent inspections in these program areas.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and perform inspections of the following: On-Site Sewage Management Systems, Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Establishments, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, Body Art Studios as assigned
  • Provide customer service to the public, industry personnel, contractors, and partner agencies
  • Investigate Environmental Health complaints
  • Drive a personal vehicle and/or company vehicle for work daily
  • Perform both indoor and outdoor work in various climates
  • Perform data entry related to EH activities as requested
  • Respond to public health emergencies
