Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.)
One (1) year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 1 (RCP120) or equivalent position.
Note: Any agency-specified certification/training that may be experience.

Nice To Haves

Completion of Georgia DPH FS, TA, SP, BA training curriculum and the ability to perform independent inspections in these program areas.

Responsibilities

Evaluate programs for compliance with Georgia Environmental Health Regulations and perform inspections of the following: On-Site Sewage Management Systems, Animal Bite Investigations, Food Service Establishments, Public Swimming Pools, Tourist Accommodations, Body Art Studios as assigned
Provide customer service to the public, industry personnel, contractors, and partner agencies
Investigate Environmental Health complaints
Drive a personal vehicle and/or company vehicle for work daily
Perform both indoor and outdoor work in various climates
Perform data entry related to EH activities as requested
Respond to public health emergencies
