A Pharmacy Resident provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients at LMH. As a licensed pharmacist, residents identify and prevent or limit potential or actual drug-related issues. Residents are in a 1-year intensive learning experience intended to meet the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) - Accredited outcomes for a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an Accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Kansas pharmacist license or eligible in the year of application.
  • ASHP national match confirmation
  • Letter of intent, LMH application, Curriculum Vitae , Academic transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and clarifies physician medication orders
  • Enters medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, completes and monitors patient provides to avoid allergies and drug interactions.
  • Accurately labels and dispenses drugs
  • Assures timely delivery of drugs on the nursing units.
  • Interviews patients to assess therapeutic use of drugs
  • Assesses the pharmaceutical care needs of the patients including drug education needs.
  • Provides services to meet the assessed pharmaceutical care needs where appropriate.
  • Supports the mission and vision of LMH and the Pharmacy Department.
  • Other additional duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
