About The Position

The Professional Golf Management (PGM) program in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, College of Health and Human Development seeks to hire a part-time student assistant. This position is not an option for remote work. The intern will be responsible for greeting students and families, collecting contact information, managing the new student mentor program, representing the student society executive board, and organizing social events for new students. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Compensation is $14/hr.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Penn State student (not previously employed by the university) or an external applicant.
  • Must be able to work part-time.
  • Must be able to work in the PGM Office (7th floor, Ford Building).

Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet students and visiting families
  • Welcome new students and collect contact information in the PGM Office (7th floor, Ford Building)
  • Create and monitor the new student mentor program
  • Represent the student society executive board while meeting with PGM Faculty
  • Create social events for new students throughout the semester to welcome them to campus
  • Other duties as assigned
