About The Position

Living Sky Co-op is hiring a Petroleum Manager at our Peebles branch in Peebles, Saskatchewan. Co-op does business differently. As a co-operative, we believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. Reporting to the General Manager, the Petroleum Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Petroleum Department. You will meet or exceed budgeted goals by providing leadership and direction to the Petroleum Department Team Members. Our team provides a range of products and services to support our member-owners. Through the work that we do, we help to build, fuel, feed and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills with high housekeeping standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of petroleum, lubricants and of regional industries.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Relevant experience or have been in a leadership position.
  • Team oriented.
  • Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Place a strong importance on Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • A 1A license would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage new and existing customers to identify unmet fuel and lubricant needs, uncover market opportunities, and recommend strategic solutions that strengthen customer portfolios and drive sustained volume and margin growth.
  • Be responsible for efficient buying, inventory management, and pricing strategies to reach ideal sales and margins.
  • Promote the sale and use of Co-op petroleum, lubricants, fuel equipment, and promote Co-op’s branding initiatives.
  • Be responsible for developing and achieving operating plans and budgets.
  • Be responsible for developing a strong workplace culture.
  • Provide leadership of the department’s human resources needs including recruitment and training, development, succession planning, performance management, discipline, recognition and motivation, administration of policies.
  • Work co-operatively with all departments and suppliers.
