About The Position

Intertek Caleb Brett is seeking a Petroleum Inspector with 1-2 years of experience to join their team at the Deer Park facility. This role offers a versatile career in the Inspection and Testing business within the ATIC industry. Intertek Caleb Brett specializes in Cargo inspection and analytical assessment services for the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets, leveraging a global network of laboratories and over 130 years of customer service. The company aims to be a Total Quality Assurance Provider, bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life. The Petroleum Inspector is responsible for volume and temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials across various conveyances and storage, including lines, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships. This position involves travel to client locations for onsite inspections and requires working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Petroleum Inspector.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
  • Basic grasp of basic mathematics.
  • Ability to work in an automated environment.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis.
  • Cannot have a fear of heights.
  • Physical requirements include Lifting (25-35 pounds), walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting and driving.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, or equivalent preferred.
  • Industry Certifications are a PLUS.
  • May be some travel, on a volunteer basis.

Responsibilities

  • Volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks and barges and ships.
  • Visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
  • Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges and ships.
  • Perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks.
  • Maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized and functional condition.
  • Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
  • Perform specified duties and complete associated paperwork.
  • Gauge and sample shore tanks and barges.
  • Calculate shore tanks and barges and interpolate on strapping tables.
  • Set shore stop.
