About The Position

This role is critical for addressing sand-related production deferrals, which have historically exceeded 2 mboed net and cost approximately $80MM/yr. With increasing development complexity and rising well costs, improving production reliability and capital efficiency is paramount. The Sand Management Senior Petroleum Engineer will provide deep technical insight, integrate surveillance and modeling, shape safe operating envelopes, and drive reliability across the reservoir, well, facility, and export chokes. This role establishes standards and best practices, represents bp in partner and industry engagements, and leads capability-building initiatives to enhance technical excellence. The Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) Sand Management Central Team safeguards asset integrity, optimizes production, and embeds proactive sand management practices across bp’s global portfolio.
