The Lead Lifeguard at Petro Pool, under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Director, is responsible for the supervision of aquatic-related personnel and ensuring the control and safety of participants during recreational and instructional swimming. The Community Pool is open from June 22nd to August 16th. Hours are Monday through Sunday, 11:00am-5:00pm (subject to change with extra programming). A regular schedule will be provided. Essential Functions: Ensures that the highest aquatic standards are constantly maintained. Provides direct supervision to facility staff and maintains high safety standards during recreational and instructional swimming. Proficient in all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures Communicate with a supervisor about any concerns regarding safety, staff, or the public. Responsible for determining if weather becomes a safety concern and following proper closing policies and procedures (working/communicating with Petro Pool Supervisor) Keeps pool area organized, maintains a clean facility, and cares for all equipment Follows opening and closing procedures ensuring all guards are following these protocols. Engages in positive public relations with patrons and models for other staff Conducts regular safety inspections of aquatic facility Maintains certifications listed under Certificates, Licenses Receives and carries out instructions Maintain a professional appearance at all times; wear clothing that meets the YMCA dress code.
