About The Position

The PET Technologist performs diagnostic PET procedures using positron emitting radionuclides and through operating sensitive radiation detection equipment (PET or PET/CT scanner). The individual performs under limited supervision. This individual performs PET or hybrid PET/CT scanning procedures in the Positron Emission Tomography section for the Kettering Health System.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree required.
  • Registered or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, ARRT(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Ohio license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Ability to work well with physicians, technologists, and all hospital personnel.
  • Ability to interact with all patients professionally and with positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Produce quality work while meeting multiple demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Experience in an active PET department with image co-registration knowledge required.
  • Preferred at hire that the technologist has successfully passed the NMTCB-PET exam and remain certified in PET specialty by retaking exam every 7 years based on the requirements set forth by the NMTCB Specialty Board.
  • Certification is required within 24 months of hire if not already obtained.
