About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible pet lovers to provide in-home dog or cat sitting visits and dog walking services for clients in the Brooklyn / NYC Metro Area. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position where sitters set their own availability and service area, and are matched with clients. It offers meaningful, independent work caring for pets, providing peace of mind to pet parents, and building trust with repeat clients.
Requirements
- Experience with dog or cat care, especially in a pet sitting capacity
- Ability to confidently handle dogs from small to large
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Strong written communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- Smartphone with reliable internet & camera
- Medication administration experience (oral, injections, fluids)
- Holiday & weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Feeding and refreshing water for pets
- Cleaning up pet waste
- Providing playtime, affection, and companionship
- Sending visit updates and photos through an app
- Following detailed client care instructions
- Bringing in mail or packages
- Adjusting lights, blinds, or trash/recycling as requested
- Administering medication if within experience and comfort level
