Pet Playtime Coordinator - Houston Will Clayton
About The Position
Pet Paradise is looking for individuals with a passion for pets to organize and manage daytime play groups at our Houston Will Clayton resort location. The Pet Playtime Coordinator will interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, ensuring a safe level of play. This role involves maintaining visual observation of dogs at all times, spreading attention among all dogs, minimizing stress levels, and handling aggressive or unusual behaviors. The coordinator will also control play levels by following procedures and assisting with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties. Pet Paradise is a full-service pet care destination dedicated to giving pet parents access to all the premium care they need to give their furry family member the happiest, healthiest, longest life possible. The brand offers resort-style pet day camp and care, professional pet grooming, low-stress and high-quality veterinary care, and overnight boarding. Requirements
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- True passion for working with animals
- Ability to work in all-weather conditions (heat and humidity); will be exposed to pool water
- Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping
- Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times
Responsibilities
- Interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas (play-yard and pool); using appropriate toys and tools to ensure a safe level of play
- Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup
- Minimizing stress levels of all dogs in the playgroup and handling aggressive or unusual behaviors
- Controlling levels of play by following procedures and instructions provided by management and utilizing proper dog handling techniques
- Assisting the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties
