About The Position

Pet Paradise is looking for individuals with a passion for pets to organize and manage daytime play groups at our Ocala resort location. The Pet Playtime Coordinator will be responsible for interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas, ensuring a safe level of play, maintaining visual observation of dogs at all times, spreading attention and play among all dogs, minimizing stress levels, handling aggressive or unusual behaviors, controlling play levels, and assisting the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties. This role requires the ability to work in all-weather conditions, be comfortable around dogs of all sizes, and be physically able to handle them and lift up to 60 lbs. Flexibility in scheduling, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times, is also necessary.

Requirements

Excellent customer service and organizational skills
True passion for working with animals
Ability to work in all-weather conditions (heat and humidity); will be exposed to pool water
Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and to lift up to 60 lbs.
Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping
Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times

Responsibilities

Interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas (play-yard and pool); using appropriate toys and tools to ensure a safe level of play
Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup
Minimizing stress levels of all dogs in the playgroup and handling aggressive or unusual behaviors
Controlling levels of play by following procedures and instructions provided by management and utilizing proper dog handling techniques
Assisting the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties
