Requirements
- Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, LPT, PST, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State.
- LPS certification preferred or needs to obtain this prior to commencement of employment.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum two (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit
- DMH certification required for 5150 detention.
Responsibilities
- Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs.
- Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights.
- Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed.
- Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.
