AM & PM East Greenwich Pet Care Professional (Pet Sitting & Dog Walking)
About The Position
Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC is hiring experienced Pet Care Professionals for AM (Mornings) and PM (Evenings) pet sitting and dog walking roles in East Greenwich & North Kingstown, RI. This is a long-term, part-time position for individuals who are reliable, passionate about animal care, and comfortable with various types of pets. The company has been in business since 2006, offering dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight pet sitting services, and has been recognized as a top pet service company for nine consecutive years. They are committed to the highest level of professionalism and quality care for pets and their families.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior professional animal care experience.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Smartphone with reliable internet access.
- Daily access to email and the internet.
- Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, communication, and visit documentation.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors walking dogs year-round in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Consistent Morning and Evening availability Monday through Sunday (1-2 hours between 7-9 am and 6-9 pm).
- At least 10 hours per week availability.
- Prior professional animal care experience, which can include professional pet sitting/dog walking, veterinary hospital/clinic work, animal shelter/rescue organization experience, dog daycare/boarding facility work, pet grooming salon experience, pet/dog training, veterinary technician/assistant roles, animal care technician roles, veterinary/animal science internships/externships, horse barn/equine/farm animal care, wildlife rehabilitation/care, zoo/aquarium experience, or other professional animal care settings.
Nice To Haves
- Additional daytime availability is a plus.
- Certified Vet Techs, Certified Dog Trainers, and Fear Free Certified Professionals may receive additional pay.
Responsibilities
- Conducting dog walks and exercising dogs.
- Letting dogs out for bathroom breaks.
- Pet sitting for dogs, cats, and other small animals.
- Feeding pets.
- Administering medications as needed.
- Providing cat and small animal care.
- Cleaning litter boxes.
- Providing love, attention, and exceptional care to pets while clients are away.
- Traveling frequently between clients' homes within assigned service areas.
- Following detailed care instructions provided by clients and within the client management system.
- Leaving notes for clients after each visit to update them on their pet's care.
