About The Position

Bellwood Animal Hospital is a five-doctor small animal and exotic practice in Rockford, Illinois, known for providing high-quality medicine and exceptional client service. We’re looking for a Pet Care Attendant who is passionate about patient care, teamwork, and creating a clean, comfortable environment for the animals entrusted to us. Nice To Haves

  • Previous veterinary clinic, hospital, boarding, or animal-care experience preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and hospital workflows is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate daily care for animals in the hospital
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and other patient-care spaces
  • Feed, water, walk, and monitor patients according to hospital protocols
  • Complete laundry and help maintain appropriate sanitation standards throughout the hospital
  • Observe patients for changes in behavior or condition and communicate concerns to the medical team
  • Assist teammates with safe patient handling and movement as needed
  • Keep animal-care areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
  • Restock supplies and help maintain an efficient hospital environment
  • Support hospital cleanliness across treatment and kennel areas
  • Jump in wherever needed to help keep the day running smoothly
