About The Position
Red Hill Animal Health Center is hiring a Pet Care Attendant to join their Pet Care Team and provide exceptional care for the cats and dogs who stay with them. This role is for animal lovers who are also people pleasers, involving daily animal care, attention to individual needs, and providing an outstanding experience for clients. It is an active, hands-on position requiring walking dogs, navigating stairs, caring for multiple pets, and staying on the move. Attention to detail, exceptional client service, and the care and safety of animals are top priorities.
Requirements
- A genuine love for dogs and cats
- A strong commitment to animal safety and well-being
- Excellent customer-service and people skills
- Confidence working around animals of different sizes and personalities
- Ability to safely handle large dogs
- Ability to safely manage multiple dogs when appropriate
- Physical ability to complete approximately 30-minute leash walks
- Ability to go up and down stairs repeatedly throughout the workday
- Comfort working in an active and physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to carefully follow individual pet-care instructions
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Ability to stay organized in a busy boarding and daycare environment
- Dependability and a strong work ethic
- A positive, helpful, team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to get a little dirty when the job calls for it
- A passion for delivering excellent care to pets and exceptional service to their people
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for boarding and daycare dogs and cats
- Walk dogs for approximately 30-minute leash walks
- Safely handle large dogs and multiple dogs when appropriate
- Monitor pets closely for changes in behavior, comfort, appetite, or overall well-being
- Follow individual feeding, exercise, and care instructions carefully
- Provide appropriate exercise, enrichment, and attention
- Help keep pets safe, comfortable, and happy throughout their stay
- Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized pet-care areas
- Communicate clearly with teammates regarding individual pet needs
- Provide friendly and professional service to pet owners
- Pay close attention to details and follow established care protocols
- Navigate stairs multiple times throughout the workday
- Help maintain an efficient workflow in a busy boarding and daycare environment
- Jump in where needed to support pets, clients, and teammates
