Requirements

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with dogs and a desire to create positive experiences for both pets and their owners.
• Hands-on confidence in bathing, drying, and brushing dogs, with an understanding that thoughtful technique contributes to their comfort, hygiene, and overall well-being.
• Patience and awareness when handling dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and comfort levels, including larger animals.
• Pride in the details of foundational grooming care, including ear cleaning, nail trimming, brushing, bathing, and drying.
• Dependability, punctuality, energy, and self-motivation, with the ability to maintain quality and focus as the pace of the day increases.
• A professional, service-minded approach that builds trust through clear communication, reliability, and genuine care.
• A willingness to learn, accept coaching, and continually develop your animal-handling, bathing, grooming, and pet care skills.
• The physical stamina to remain active throughout the day and safely perform the hands-on demands of animal care.
• High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum 16 years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience handling dogs preferred; experienced pet bathers encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Create fresh, comfortable, and well-cared-for pets through professional bathing, drying, and brushing techniques tailored to each dog’s size, coat, condition, and individual needs.
• Provide a calm and positive experience through patient, attentive handling of dogs of all sizes, including animals weighing more than 90 pounds.
• Complete foundational grooming care through bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, and nail trimming that supports each pet’s comfort, hygiene, and presentation.
• Build trust with pets and their owners through genuine care, professional communication, and service that creates confidence in the experience.
• Contribute to a dependable and efficient operation through punctuality, energy, self-motivation, and consistent attention to quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming bathing environment by maintaining work areas and supporting the daily needs of the facility.
• Develop a strong foundation for professional pet care by developing animal-handling skills, bathing techniques, grooming knowledge, customer service experience, and confidence through hands-on training.
