About The Position

The Pest Controller performs pest management work involving the inspection of buildings and surrounding areas, identification of pest activity, and application of appropriate control measures to prevent, suppress, and eliminate infestations. Work includes the use of chemical treatments, toxic gases where authorized, baits, and mechanical traps, as well as related documentation and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Must obtain & maintain base access.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience performing pest control or extermination services in commercial, industrial, institutional, or Government facilities.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the identification of common pests, signs of infestation, treatment selection, and safe application methods.
  • Must be able to inspect facilities, determine appropriate control measures, and perform treatment using pesticides, baits, traps, and related equipment.
  • Must maintain accurate service records and documentation associated with inspections, treatments, and materials used.
  • Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements governing pest control operations and pesticide use.
  • Must possess any licenses, certifications, or applicator credentials required by the state or jurisdiction in which the work is performed.
  • Must be able to safely perform work in indoor and outdoor environments, including confined, restricted, or difficult-to-access areas as required by the assignment.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects buildings, structures, and surrounding areas for evidence of insects, rodents, and other pests and identifies locations and conditions conducive to infestation.
  • Applies approved chemical solutions, pesticides, rodenticides, baits, dusts, and other treatment materials to control or eliminate pests in accordance with label directions and applicable regulations.
  • Sets, monitors, services, and removes mechanical traps and related pest control devices as required.
  • Determines the type and extent of infestation and selects appropriate treatment methods based on site conditions and pest activity.
  • Performs routine, preventive, corrective, and follow-up pest control services in buildings and around exterior facility areas.
  • Maintains records of inspections, treatments performed, pesticides and materials used, locations serviced, and other required service documentation.
  • Advises responsible personnel of pest-related conditions, sanitation concerns, harborage areas, or structural issues that may contribute to recurring infestations.
  • Ensures the safe handling, storage, mixing, application, and disposal of pesticides, equipment, and related materials in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Uses required personal protective equipment and follows applicable environmental, occupational, and site-specific safety procedures while performing assigned duties.
