Pest Control Technician (Will Train)
About The Position
Mosquito Joe is seeking a motivated and dependable Pest Control Technician in Rochester for the active mosquito season (typically April through October). No prior pest control experience is necessary, as full training and certification support will be provided. High-performing individuals may have the opportunity to transition into a Holiday Lighting position from November through March, offering extended or near year-round employment. This role is physically demanding and involves working outdoors independently, requiring individuals who enjoy staying active and taking ownership of their tasks. Weekly hours can fluctuate based on customer demand and technician availability.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to walk properties and carry equipment weighing approximately 50+ lbs for extended periods
- Strong time-management skills and ability to manage a daily service route efficiently
- Takes ownership of their work and maintains high professional standards
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional, detail-oriented, and organized
- Willingness to work flexible hours during peak season

Responsibilities
- Inspect and treat properties for mosquitoes, ticks, and other outdoor pests
- Safely operate backpack spray equipment (approximately 50+ lbs when full)
- Work outdoors in warm temperatures for extended periods
- Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with New York State requirements
- Clearly explain services, procedures, and expectations to customers
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Identify opportunities to promote additional services when appropriate
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training
