The contractor shall provide the full range of personnel security duties to produce results as described below. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following: Assist with organizing and prioritizing large volumes of information in an effective and efficient manner under varying constraints; Receiving, logging, and/or reviewing requests for initial or updated investigations to ensure proper procedural requirements have been satisfied prior to opening the investigation; Reviewing personnel security documentation and providing input on controversial issues or discrepancies identified; Coordinating and monitoring progress of investigations by periodically reviewing the status of case files to determine which phases of the investigation remain to be completed; Filing, copying or mailing documentation; Reviewing incoming correspondence and separating according to section; Entering data for pre-background investigation files; Reviewing background forms to determine completeness and/or identifying omissions in accordance with SOPs; Preparing memoranda or other correspondence for the purpose of verifying information, informing an applicant or other offices of the status of their investigation, or requesting supporting information to resolve discrepancies; Managing files based upon their suspense dates; Assisting with case file management; Using practical knowledge of systems procedures and upon obtaining systems access to local or proprietary databases or records to enter, locate, modify, review and retrieve specific information and/or reports; Fingerprinting applicants; Scheduling applicant and/or employee security interviews and polygraph examinations; Performing duties in accordance with SOPs, established guidance, etc.; Processing routine assignments independently; and Providing assistance to lower-level staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of personnel security experience
  • Knowledge and skill in one or more personnel security program areas (pre-screening process, single-scope background investigations, periodic reinvestigations, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of personnel security guidelines, standards, mandates, executive orders, guidance and/or regulations and standard and optional forms is desired

Responsibilities

  • Assemble personnel security case files
  • Recommend cases for final adjudication
  • Respond to various inquiries and direct or assist in the maintenance and review and update of associated case files, records and resources
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in personnel security issues
  • Organize and prioritize large volumes of information in an effective and efficient manner under varying constraints
