About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist to manage and execute a comprehensive personnel security program in support of Department of the Army operations. This role is responsible for overseeing security clearance processing, compliance with federal regulations, and maintaining the integrity of personnel security operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Army personnel security policies, adjudication processes, and government security systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing a Department of the Army personnel security program
  • Strong knowledge of Army Regulation 380-67 and National Security Adjudicative Guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with DISS (Defense Information System for Security) and PSIP (Personnel Security Investigation Portal)
  • Proven experience processing security clearances from initiation through adjudication
  • Ability to interpret investigative reports and apply adjudicative criteria
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed, audit-compliant records
  • Excellent communication skills with experience briefing personnel and leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting PEO or acquisition-based Army programs
  • Familiarity with continuous evaluation programs and incident reporting processes
  • Prior experience working in a federal contracting environment
  • Active or recently held DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer all aspects of the personnel security program, including execution, documentation, and reporting in accordance with Department of the Army requirements
  • Initiate, process, and track security clearance applications, reinvestigations, and renewals using systems such as DISS and PSIP
  • Conduct pre-employment background checks and ensure compliance with all applicable federal security regulations
  • Review investigative reports and adjudicative data to support eligibility determinations for access to classified information and sensitive positions
  • Oversee continuous evaluation programs, including identification and reporting of derogatory information and incident management
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready personnel security records and ensure strict adherence to Army and DoD security policies
  • Prepare and submit monthly status reports (CDRL A001) detailing clearance activities, compliance metrics, and program updates
  • Develop and deliver personnel security training and conduct security briefings for employees regarding clearance processes and responsibilities
  • Analyze clearance processing trends, delays, and incident data to provide actionable insights and improve program efficiency
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure accurate personnel records and support onboarding processes related to security clearances
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding clearance status, investigations, and reporting requirements
  • Act as liaison between government entities, including United States Army Acquisition Support Center (USAACS), higher headquarters, and investigative agencies on personnel security matters
  • Participate in security meetings and provide subject matter expertise to support leadership decision-making
