About The Position

This position assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of FMD along with central Human Resources. The incumbent is responsible for supporting and contributing to an atmosphere that facilitates maturity, responsibility, and respect. Under general direction from the Personnel & Resource Manager, this position provides administrative and human resources coordination in support of FMD. The incumbent coordinates and supports departmental processes related to recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, training, evaluations, and student employment coordinator. Working closely with the department managers, and employees, the position provides information, coordinates required documentation and activities, maintains records and tracking systems, and assists with the timely completion of personnel-related processes. The incumbent also provides support for workforce development activities, employee recognition, and other department-wide administrative functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Type 45 wpm.
  • Five years of general office support or technical experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain FMD recruitment processes, including hiring manager responsibilities, recruitment timelines, staffing needs, position descriptions, job requisitions, interview materials, scheduling, appointment recommendations, and required recruitment documentation.
  • Provide hiring managers and search committee members with recruitment guidelines, procedural support, required documentation, and ongoing communication regarding recruitment status, requirements, timelines, challenges, and process improvements.
  • Serve as an Employment Equity Facilitator (EEF) on staff selection committees as needed and assist with identifying EEFs for search committees.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive onboarding and orientation program for FMD employees, including scheduling, training, access, equipment, departmental resources, and other activities that support a successful transition into the department.
