About The Position

As the Personnel Coordinator for Student Affairs, you will coordinate the day-to-day administration of personnel and payroll operations for Student Affairs, serving as a key operational lead within Finance and Administrative Services. Reporting to the Personnel Manager, you will independently administer personnel and payroll processes across multiple departments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. In this role, you will exercise independent judgment and discretion when interpreting procedures, resolving routine to moderately complex issues, prioritizing work, and maintaining data integrity. You will also serve as a trusted resource for supervisors and unit leadership.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience coordinating personnel, payroll, human resource, or other complex administrative processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and timelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and shared file or collaboration tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday HCM and payroll business processes and/or other WSU systems.
  • Experience supporting position management, recruitments, compensation actions, and payroll processing.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience extracting data and providing analysis using tools such as Workday and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve workflows or implement standardized procedures.
