About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno’s Extension is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 1 in Las Vegas, NV. The Personnel Analyst 1 will serve as the primary human resources authority and independently perform journey level professional HR functions requiring interpretation of complex policies, statutes, and regulations. This position handles sensitive data with a high level of confidentiality and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal reporting standards. The Analyst manages classification, compensation reviews, recruitment, employee relations, workplace accommodations, workforce development, and policy application for a geographically dispersed workforce with varied funding structures. This position exercises substantial independence in advising supervisors, resolving personnel matters, recommending corrective or disciplinary actions, and ensuring compliance with NAC, NRS, State Classified Rules, Board of Regents policies, and university procedures. This position also provides direct supervision of Personnel Technician 2 and ensures consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all HR processes within their assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field; OR Three years experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates must complete a fingerprinting/background check.
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license.

  • Competency in all aspects of Microsoft office suite including PowerPoint, maintaining spreadsheets, and/or drafting professional documents.
