About The Position

A Club4Fitness PT Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new and existing personal trainers to ensure they are acclimated to the performance expectations of the Club4Fitness personal training program and that the program grows and/or maintains targeted levels of monthly production. The PT Manager must demonstrate a thorough understanding and ability to perform all aspects of the personal trainer position, along with a full understanding of organizational and departmental policies. They are expected to disseminate changes in policy, procedure, or performance expectations to their department clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner, while representing the organization positively.

Requirements

  • Experienced Certified Personal Trainer with previous experience training private clients.
  • Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics.
  • Ability to pass a personal training Strength and Conditioning Assessment.
  • Detail- and results-oriented with a high degree of professionalism and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels.
  • High level of understanding and presence across social media.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including a gregarious personality, an innate ability to motivate and inspire, and unstoppable energy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Must hold a current fitness certification from an approved education company such as ACSM, ACE, NASM, NCSA, AFFA, NFPT (NCCA Certified).
  • Must be CPR/AED certified.

Nice To Haves

  • 2- or 4-yr degree in an exercise science or related field is preferred.
  • Previous personal training sales experience, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides new personal training staff a specific schedule of onboarding activities for the first 30 days of employment, either working with the new trainer personally or assigning coaching to the Assistant PT Manager.
  • Schedules trainings to ensure personal training staff develop a thorough working knowledge of the Peak or ABC Financial point of sale system.
  • Coaches personal trainers on running an effective consultation for a prospective training client and shadows trainers to evaluate their proficiency.
  • Instills fundamental skills in personal training staff regarding efficiency of appointment setting for fitness consultations and overall prospecting.
  • Leads personal training staff by example in knowing, following, and understanding specific personal training and C4F policies and procedures, with an emphasis on cancel/freeze policies.
  • Conducts session quality reviews of existing personal training staff.
  • Assigns clients to new trainers.
  • Supports the Personal Training Director in engaging new member clients by effectively disseminating and supporting new personal training sales strategies.
  • Performs consults (monthly minimums as determined by Personal Training Director).
  • Understands departmental KPI's and metrics to support overall personal training sales growth and guide individual trainer development.
  • Responsible for promoting client retention by providing support, direction, and education to all CLUB4 PT teams.
  • Trains (and assigns) personal training staff on monthly trainer business plans and daily/weekly reporting.
  • May be asked to provide support at new CLUBs during grand openings.
  • Coordinates with PT Director on developing a specific game plan for each CLUB4 facility visit.
  • Assists with scheduled interviews under the direction of the PT Director.
  • Submits any required daily/weekly/monthly assignments and reports to PTD/Regional.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Trainerize.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service through healthy communication with members, training staff, and regarding employee or member issues, adhering strictly to C4F customer service standards.
  • Conducts regular audits as assigned by the PT Director (e.g., quality control checks, client binders, Trainerize profiles, consultation worksheets, calendar management).
  • Follows all guidelines outlined in the Personal Trainer job description.
