About The Position

The Saratoga Regional YMCA is hiring for a Part-time Personal Trainer. This role involves leading clients through designed fitness and exercise programs to achieve their Health and Wellness goals. The ideal candidate will be able to assess clients, design personalized fitness programs, and adjust to various client needs and fitness levels. The Personal Trainer will also create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current nationally accredited Personal Training Certification (NASM, ACE, etc.).
  • Experience in exercise program design for clients of various ages and fitness levels.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of Personal Training sales experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to the individual needs of the client to maximize their fitness success rate.
  • Evaluate the current fitness status and needs of members, recommend appropriate goals, and answer questions to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Design fitness programs for clients of various ages and fitness levels.
  • Provide education and guidance to clients on the effects of nutrition to help them reach their Health and Wellness goals.
  • Guide members through Personal Training options and answer questions and concerns.
  • Book and record all client sessions into a digital calendar system and redeem sessions accordingly.
  • Verify all trainings have been paid for and completed through the Daxko redemption portal.
  • Initiate dialogue and build relationships with members on the Wellness floor to build clientele.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current fitness trends and techniques to provide support to members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and its capacity for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
  • Work a minimum of 10 hours on the Wellness Floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
