About The Position

The City of Pflugerville is seeking a Part-Time Personal Trainer for the Monarch Recreation Center. This role operates under the supervision of the Fitness Coordinator and is responsible for providing individualized fitness assessments, personalized training programs, and one-on-one coaching to members. The goal is to ensure safe, effective, and motivating exercise experiences that help members achieve their fitness goals. The position also supports revenue targets through training sales and member engagement, and requires the ability to remain accessible via cell phone for job-related issues or emergencies.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of personal training experience.
One (1) year of experience in the fitness or exercise industry.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
Exercise certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, Cooper Institute, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise science.
Knowledge of nutrition and weight management principles.
Strong customer service and motivational skills.
Ability to create effective exercise programs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, balance, and demonstrate exercises.
Ability to lift 50-100lbs. safely or with help.

Nice To Haves

Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) or Group Fitness Instructor credential.

Responsibilities

Designs and delivers tailored fitness programs for clients.
Evaluates fitness levels and identifies coaching needs.
Assists with general member guidance on the fitness floor.
Ensures fitness area is clean and safe for use.
Supports revenue targets through training sales and member engagement.
Remains accessible via cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.
