About The Position

Provides members with an individual training program that is tailored to the needs, wants and desires of each client; based on their health history, test results and fitness goals.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work the hours specified.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • ACE Certified Personal Trainer (ACE-CPT) - American Council on Exercise (ACE) within 1 Year or ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) within 1 Year or Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach - National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) within 1 Year or NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT) - National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) within 1 Year

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Concentration in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology or physical education
  • Master's
  • 1-3 years Work experience or internship in the health and fitness industry, preferable in a medically oriented specialty such as: athletic training, cardiac rehabilitation, dietetics or physical therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Leads one-on-one, partner and small group training sessions to members and guests of all fitness levels.
  • Trains within standard guidelines of specialty certifications.
  • Establishes and appropriately progress client training programs, taking their medical history and conditions into consideration for a safe and effective approach to exercise.
  • Presents both staff and member training sessions on a rotating basis with new material or a review of current literature and trends.
  • Promotes and contributes to the growth of the overall training program through consistent, goal-directed contact of members and potential referral sources such as member clinical and physician contacts.
  • Participates in department meetings and training sessions and work toward meeting departmental and organizational goals.
  • Proficient in all core business software as it relates to scheduling, editing or cancelling appointments.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures to maintain a safe patient environment.
