About The Position

The City of Redmond is seeking a Personal Trainer to join their Parks & Recreation department. This position delivers a motivating, safe, and supportive training experience for clients at the new Redmond Senior and Community Center. It is a part-time opportunity for someone passionate about health and wellness who loves empowering individuals of all ages and ability levels to build confidence, improve their fitness, and achieve meaningful personal goals. The hours are variable, based on scheduled personal training clients, with availability needed in the morning, daytime, and/or evening. The position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week on average and no more than 1,040 hours per year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in leading group exercise classes
  • Successful passing of a required background check.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within two months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or related field
  • Current Personal Trainer certifications (ACE, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct personalized training sessions that begin and end on time, following individualized client programs.
  • Adapt programming to meet clients’ needs, goals, limitations, and abilities.
  • Provide coaching cues, encouragement, and form corrections to ensure safe and effective workouts.
  • Track client progress and update training plans as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and staff regarding scheduling, goals, and safety concerns.
