About The Position

The Personal Trainer is responsible for conducting initial member orientations, creating and implementing monthly fitness initiatives, and maintaining a minimum of 20 hours per week in billable hours, classes, or fitness center specific activities. This role also involves inspecting and cleaning exercise equipment and facilities, maintaining supplies, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, and assisting the Director of Fitness in creating and implementing new programs for members. The trainer will guide members through progressive training sessions, monitor members using equipment to ensure safety and proper technique, and ensure accurate billing for services. Additionally, the role involves assisting with Fitness Center projects and performing other duties as requested by the Director of Fitness.

Requirements

  • Must be CPR/AED certified
  • Must have Personal Training Certification or related Fitness Degree(s)
  • Must be able to communicate in and have a basic comprehension of the English language.
  • Must have Health/Fitness knowledge and background.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and/or sit up to 8 hours per day.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Hearing, seeing and talking sufficient enough to communicate with members, guests, and co-workers and ensure member safety.
  • Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 45lbs.
  • Independent mobility throughout the Fitness Center.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial orientation for members, including membersBLE-ID access.
  • Help Director create monthly fitness initiatives for the members of the club who train on their own.
  • Maintain a minimum of 20 hours per week in either billable hours, classes or fitness centers specific activities.
  • Inspect exercise equipment and facilities for maintenance needs. Inform Director of any needs identified.
  • Clean fitness center and equipment.
  • Help stock and maintain supplies including but not limited to towels, drinks, cleaning supplies, tissues, etc.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed. Follow up with the Director of Fitness if there is an issue.
  • Help the Director of Fitness create and implement new programs for the members outside of personal training including but not limited to run groups, yoga, and all other club events and activities that are offered to members.
  • Guide members through progressive training sessions in the areas of flexibility, aerobic training & conditioning, and strength training.
  • Help monitor all members as they use the equipment and facility to ensure that safe and proper techniques are used at all times.
  • Ensure that all members are charged by Ridglea Country Club for tickets and billed correctly and in the appropriate month. All tickets must be done by the fitness professional.
  • Help with the Fitness Center projects as needed including but not limited to bulletin boards, newsletter articles, etc.
  • Perform miscellaneous responsibilities in other areas of Fitness Center which the Director of Fitness requests.
  • Establish and maintain professional standard of conduct and appearance at all times. Exhibit professional attitude towards superiors, colleagues and members.
  • Exhibit and employ proper personal hygiene and dress professionally. Ridglea work shirts must be worn when Personal Training members.
  • Greet all members in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Answer phone within three rings and use “Good morning, afternoon, or evening, Ridglea Fitness Center, this is (use your name)?”.
  • Clean a minimum of one time per week and mark in cleaning book.
  • Pick up all equipment left on floor or out of place.
  • Each Personal Trainer must do a class or promotion to highlight their specific training skills (at least once a year).
  • Each Personal Trainer must submit a health, fitness, or nutritional article for members when assigned by Director.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Conduct him/herself in a professional manner when working.
  • Arrive in and maintain a professional appearance at work.
