About The Position

The Arc Carroll County is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one personal supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a part-time position with evening and some daytime/weekend hours available. The role involves providing community-based or in-home support, transportation, and assisting individuals with personal care and mobility as needed. DSPs are responsible for creating and implementing activities, encouraging independence, documenting services, and following person-centered plans and regulations.

Requirements

18+ years old
High school diploma or GED
Valid U.S. driver’s license that has never been suspended or revoked
Ability to pass background, drug, and driving record checks
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to complete required training courses, including CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification, and other DDA-mandated training

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one community-based or in-home support
Provide transportation and support community access
Create and implement innovative, fun, and meaningful activities tailored to each individual’s interests, goals, and abilities
Support individuals individually and independently, encouraging choice, creativity, and self-direction through social, recreational, and educational activities
Encourage independence and decision-making
Assist with personal care and mobility as needed
Document services and progress in iCare
Follow person-centered plans, policies, and state regulations
