About The Position
CBI Home Health is seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in Toronto to join their team. This posting is to build a talent pool for future potential openings, with applicants being contacted as opportunities become available and kept on file for up to 12 months. Requirements
- Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (Home Support Worker Level I, II or III, Health Care Aid, Personal Attendant (PA+2), Developmental Support Worker, OTA/PTA, Paramedic, Internationally Trained Registered Nurse/ Registered Practical Nurse (RN/RPN), Midwife or Physicians, Students currently enrolled post-1st year in Nursing, Rehab, Medicine or Paramedicine programs)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification, Level C
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
- Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
- Ability to travel from home to home within the community
- Commitment to work every other weekend, minimum 5 hours both Saturday and Sunday
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Reliability and strong organizational skills
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
Nice To Haves
- Ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Support clients in maintaining their safety and independence in their homes.
- Assist clients in mobilizing and perform light exercises.
- Observe, document, and report any changes in client condition to Manager/Supervisor.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.
