About The Position
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides direct personal support and care to patients to fulfill their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, in accordance with policies, procedures, and work routines. The role involves assisting in providing direct care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.
Requirements
- Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position.
- Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
- Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families.
- Ability to provide care in accordance with applicable legislation, job routines, nursing care plans.
- Ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a Retirement Home setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred.
