Personal Support Worker (Part Time Evening Shift)
About The Position
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy. Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care (“Yee Hong”) is one of the largest not-for-profit, culturally-appropriate seniors care organizations in Canada. Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
- Current CPR Certificate
- Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
- Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
- Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office).
- Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long term care setting an asset
- Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
- Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
- Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
- Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset
