About The Position

Carecor is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join their team, working within Transitional Care Units in the Greater Toronto Area. Under the direction of facility nursing staff, PSWs will perform floor and observational care duties to promote the optimal physical, social, and emotional well-being of patients. Each assignment involves working in one facility for a full 8-12 hour shift. This is a casual position with flexible scheduling options, but no guaranteed shifts.

Requirements

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or enrolled in a Nursing pathway program or a Nursing student
• Clinical experience as a PSW within the past 2 years or at least 1 year in Hospital/LTC clinical placement completed in nursing program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and N95 Mast Fit Test Certificate
• Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), Hepatitis B, and Tdap/Td
• Proof of negative TB skin test within the past (1) year or negative chest x-ray within the past 5 years
• Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire
• Provide proof of full COVID-19 Vaccination prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

• CPI Certification required (Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training Certificate)
• Experience working in a Mental Health Unit is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor and observational care duties under the direction of facility nursing staff.

• Safely lift, transfer, and support clients with weights of up to 50 lbs or more, in accordance with safe work practices.
