About The Position

As a valued member of our PSW team, you will provide direct care to residents in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines. This position is for our 242-bed Long-Term Care Home, Laurier Manor, located in Ottawa, Ontario on 1715 Montreal Rd. Available opportunities include: Part-time; Day/Evening/Night shifts Shifts defined: Days 6:30 - 4:30, Evenings 14:30 – 22:30, Nights 22:30 – 6:30

Requirements

• Completed a PSW Program certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position
• Able to perform physical tasks and duties, including frequent bending, reaching and lifting
• Compassion, professionalism, and respect
• Ability to provide care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families

Nice To Haves

• BSO certification preferred
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, bathing, toileting and personal grooming
• Encourage resident participation in activities and programs
• Provide emotional and social support to residents and families
