The Personal Support Instructor (PSI) provides person-centered support services to individuals with developmental disabilities in accordance with Regional Center requirements and each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP). Rather than serving as a traditional caregiver, the PSI acts as a coach, mentor, and advocate, empowering individuals to develop independent living skills, increase self-determination, and achieve meaningful personal goals. Through teaching, modeling, and positive support, the PSI promotes choice, inclusion, and community integration while ensuring services are delivered in compliance with applicable regulations and agency standards.
