Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required or CPCU designation and 5 years of insurance experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Possess basic mathematical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
The ability to understand policy language, underwriting rates, rules, guidelines, and make independent decisions.
Must be able to apply all knowledge to underwriting personal lines business.

Responsibilities

Underwrite personal lines new business, rewrite new terms, and policy changes while maintaining an acceptable loss ratio.
Select, classify, and monitor insurance risks to maintain adequate rate for risk and ensure a profitable book of business.
Maintain acceptable customer service standards and be thorough, consistent, and accurate in underwriting.
