Personal Lines Agent II, 1st Source Insurance, Mishawaka, IN
About The Position
Services existing personal lines accounts. Provides support for producers to facilitate the growth of new business and retain existing clients. This role involves daily customer service, advising customers on insurance needs and products, reviewing existing accounts, negotiating terms and premiums with underwriters, and processing endorsements. The agent will also assist in the issuance of new business, support producers with overflow, and refer additional lines of business to other departments. Maintaining a license in good standing with the IN Department of Insurance and a valid driver's license are required. Regular and predictable attendance, and completion of all compliance training are essential. The position requires understanding and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements

- Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.

Nice To Haves
- Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience preferred.
- Previous risk management and insurance customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of agency management and carrier rating systems.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily customer service to existing customers, documenting all conversations into the agency management system.
- Discusses insurance needs with customers and advises customers on proper products to meet their particular needs.
- Reviews existing accounts and suggests additional coverages.
- Negotiates terms and premiums with underwriters and has the authority to bind coverage on behalf of underwriters of various insurance agencies.
- Processes endorsements and verifies endorsement was processed correctly by insurance company and downloaded correctly into system.
- Assists in issuance of new business by verifying accuracy of new policies.
- Supports and assists with overflow from producers.
- Refers additional lines of business to other departments within the insurance agency and bank.
- Maintains a license in good standing with the IN Department of Insurance.
- Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
- Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
