Requirements

  • A minimum of 3–7 years of experience supporting attorneys in pre-litigation and litigated personal injury matters on cases in New York.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating with a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (not required)
  • Experience in high-volume or fast-growing law firms
  • Familiarity with New York court rules and procedures
  • Experience with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Clio, SmartAdvocate)
  • Comfort working in evolving systems and processes
  • Bilingual in the Spanish language

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in reviewing and assessing the merits of clients’ Personal Injury claims by organizing, reviewing, and summarizing records, documents, and evidence to support case evaluation and valuation.
  • Support attorneys in Personal Injury matters by drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents. Prepare filings, coordinate service, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in all submissions.
  • Assist in the development and execution of case strategies by conducting legal research, summarizing medical records, organizing evidence, preparing demand packages, and supporting negotiations with insurance carriers.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status, document requests, and procedural updates, maintaining professional, consistent, and compassionate communication throughout the life of the case.
  • Support litigation efforts by managing discovery, preparing exhibit lists, organizing trial binders, coordinating depositions, and assisting with trial and hearing preparation.
  • Organize and maintain case files, track deadlines and statutes, update case management systems, and coordinate with internal teams, experts, and external vendors to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of liens, including Medicare and ERISA.
  • Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with all applicable legal rules, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.
