About The Position
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intake Specialists specializing in Personal Injury Law to join our legal team. This pivotal role involves managing initial client contacts, assessing case viability, and coordinating the intake process to ensure a seamless experience for clients while supporting attorneys with case development. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, legal administrative expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of personal injury law and related legal areas. Requirements
- Proven experience in legal support roles, paralegal work, or law office administration within personal injury law or related fields such as civil litigation or workers' compensation law.
- Demonstrated familiarity with legal research tools including LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Strong understanding of procedural law, legal documentation, and case management systems such as PCLaw or iManage.
- Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to extract pertinent information efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Prior experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with attention to detail in legal writing and proofreading.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of various legal practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, family law, securities law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, and general & commercial litigation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, conducting thorough interviews to gather essential case information.
- Evaluate initial case details against firm criteria for personal injury claims and other relevant legal areas such as estate planning, workers' compensation, or civil litigation.
- Manage and prioritize incoming inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms with professionalism and courtesy.
- Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to facilitate timely case intake, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and organized.
- Maintain accurate records within case management systems such as PCLaw, iManage, or other legal support software.
- Conduct preliminary research using LexisNexis or Westlaw to assist in assessing case potential when necessary.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive client information while adhering to data protection protocols.
- Support administrative functions including scheduling consultations, preparing intake questionnaires, and managing follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with team members to improve intake procedures and enhance overall client experience.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new clients by providing clear information about legal procedures and next steps.
