About The Position

ARES Corporation is hiring a Personal Computer Support Technician (PCST) to work on site at Glenn Research Center. The role of the personal computer support technician is to provide support to distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals. Support responsibilities include software installation, and configurations. This technician performs technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or SpaceBar walk-up for hardware and software packages. Job duties require the technician to install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating system, load managed software applications. In this position, the incumbent troubleshoots computer problems, performs hardware and software diagnostics, coordinates needed repairs, resolves computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participates in the evaluation of system configuration and software. The role of the personal computer support technician is to accurately and in timely manner fill out out assigned tickets and work orders. The personal computer support technician shall provide courteous, solution-oriented support that builds trust and ensures a positive customer experience during every interaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 lb
  • High school diploma
  • 2 years or related experience
