About The Position

United Home Care is seeking compassionate and dependable caregivers to provide non-medical home care services to seniors in East County San Diego. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, independence, and engagement within their homes. The position is suitable for individuals with a passion for helping others, even without formal certification, as long as they have relevant caregiving experience, such as caring for a loved one. United Home Care emphasizes one-on-one client assignments and offers ongoing support and training.

Requirements

• Compassionate, dependable, and patient with a genuine desire to help seniors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable providing companion care and personal care
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance (if driving clients)
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a background check (HCA) and TB screening
• Ability to travel to client homes throughout East County

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
• Assist with medication reminders
• Help with walking, mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
• Escort clients to appointments, errands, and community outings
• Engage clients through games, walks, hobbies, and meaningful activities
• Monitor client well-being and report changes to the care team
• Complete accurate daily care documentation
