About The Position

We are looking for experienced Personal Care Workers to join our Gladswood Lodge residential aged care home in Brunswick West. Gladswood Lodge is a welcoming home supporting older Victorians with person-centred care, dignity and genuine connection. We currently have multiple permanent part-time roster lines available across AM and PM shifts. Our Personal Care Workers (PCWs) are dedicated to helping older Victorians live their best lives, by delivering person-centred care that can only come from truly knowing the individuals they are supporting. The role of a PCW is exciting and diverse in our residential aged care homes. Each day is unique and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to our residents. Requirements

  • Completed or currently studying a Cert III or higher in Individual Support or a related qualification. If you have completed the first year of your nursing studies, and have completed your placements, you will be a qualified Care Worker
  • Experience working in an aged care environment
  • A genuine passion for caring and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Respect for all, regardless of background, gender, age, religion, race, or sexual orientation
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities according to their needs and choices
  • Observe and report any changes in resident condition to the Nurse on shift
  • Plan and support residents with social and lifestyle activities within the home
  • Document information including all required charting and progress notes
  • Spend time with the residents to connect, share stories and show empathy
